All you need is:
- 1 bag of Chelsea Approved Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
- 1/3 cup cooking oil (vegetable, canola, avocado, etc)
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup peanut butter (or any nut or seed butter)
- pinch of salt (optional)
Just combine all the ingredients in a bowl, form the dough balls, sprinkle on the salt, and bake!
Classic peanut butter cookies have the criss-cross shape made with the fork. If you like a more chewy and soft cookie, you can leave the dough in the shape of balls and they will come out as tall “high ball” cookies that are also delicious!

Ingredients
- 1 Bag of Chelsea Approved Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
- 1/3 Cup Neutral Cooking Oil (see notes)
- 1/3 Cup Water
- 1/3 Cup Peanut Butter (or any nut/seed butter) (see notes)
- 1 pinch sea salt (optional)
Directions
- Heat oven to 375F.
- Combine the water, peanut butter, and oil in a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
- Add the dry mix to the bowl and stir until thoroughly combined.
- Form dough into 12 equally sized balls on a lined baking sheet. 1-Pan Promise: Your cookies bake best when all are on the same sheet.
- Press the tops of the cookies with a fork to get the classic criss-cross pattern. (see notes)
- Sprinkle the sea salt across the top of the cookies (optional but great for making the peanut flavor pop).
- Bake cookies for 17-19 minutes. (see notes)
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes on the baking sheet. No cooling rack needed! Patience Pays off: Waiting 5-10 minutes will give cookies the perfect consistency.

Notes and Baking Tips:
1. Neutral Cooking Oil: You can use any high heat oil, but we recommend Canola Oil, Vegetable Oil, or Avocado oil. If you are going to use Coconut Oil, melt it in the microwave and then let it cool for a couple of minutes.
2. Peanut Butter or nut/seed butter: This recipe is great with any smooth nut or seed butter. You can use peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, sunflower butter, or any other nut/seed butter that you enjoy!
3. Pressing the cookie tops : For the classic peanut butter cookie look, use a fork to press down on the top. Press down once, then turn the fork 90 degrees, and press down again. This will form a criss-cross pattern that is so cute! It will also make the cookie a little flatter to get that crispy outside.
If you want a softer, more chewy cookie, you can form the dough into balls and leave them that way to bake without pressing down with the fork.
4. Bake Time: Darker pans and hotter ovens bake faster. Check your cookies early to make sure they don’t burn.
